Oil Along Banks In Barataria Bay Area - Oil Spill Cleanup

When we are suited up in chemical protection
suits it is hard for me to bust out my cellphone and snap a picture.
And considering the contaminated oil on my gloves I would not want to
touch my cellphone, but here is a picture I took as we entered this
hard boom area, you can clearly see the oil along the banks. If you
look long the bottom of the marsh grass you can easily see the gathering
oil building up on the bank. The yellow umbrella in the far center is
a fan boat placing absorbent pads in the marsh ponds to collect the
oil that has made its way inland from the rising tide. Taken July 2010 |
